Abstract
THE PROBLEMS OF THE DIABETIC are of prime importance to the anesthetist. Diabetics have not only their share of diseases for which surgical operations must be performed in diabetics and non-diabetics alike, but must carry the additional burden of operations rendered necessary by reason of the diabetes itself. Such are the gangrene of extremities caused by the arteriosclerosis to which diabetics are prone, the carbuncles and other infections to which, also, they are particularly susceptible.
