Anesthetist, Melbourne, Australia.
Abstract
APOLOGY MAY SEEM INDICATED for dealing with a subject so elementary: but, if elementary in principle, patency of the airways is fundamental in effect. The safest anesthetic agent is no longer safe if insufficiently diluted with air or oxygen: and care for this dilution differentiates the newer from the older school of anesthetists.
