  • Video Clip -
This Video demonstrates in real time the completion and injection of local anesthetic solution through a popliteal catheter placed under 3D guidance with the Philips iE33 Live ultrasound technology . The Sciatic nerve (Labeled Popliteal nerve) in the the video is clearly seen in many axes. The Philips X3-1 xMatrix transducer was utilized to obtain the images with patient placed in the prone position for the block placement. The various clips show the rotational power of 3D technology as well as the 3 distinct planes that are created during the block. The first 58 seconds of the clip demonstrates the initial 20cc injection of the local anesthetic solution and swivel viewing technology. The remaining clip shows the 3 distinct planes that can be generated from ultrasound images. (See Article for details).
