Green Mountain Boys Would Be Disappointed

To the Editor:
A geographical note regarding the study presented by Wachtel et al. (1), Burlington, VT, is shown as located in NY State on the map on page 1159, and is described as a NY State border town on page 1165. I am sure most Vermonters would object to their largest city placed within the borders of New York. It would also disappoint Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys who fought skirmishes against colonists from the province of New York in 1770 and 1771 who laid claim to Vermonts territory. Things settled down after the American revolution and when Vermont entered the Union as the 14th state in 1791.
