, the legend for Figure 1 was left out. Figure 1 with the legend is reproduced below:

Figure 1. Metabolism of leucine up to the formation of 3-methylglutaconyl-CoA. Enzymes catalyzing the reactions are in italics, with the broken arrow indication 3-MCC deficiency. This deficiency results in the formation of the underlined acid metabolites. Carnitine conjugates these metabolites for excretion, leading to a secondary carnitine deficiency.
