Professional Interests
My professional interest is obstetric anesthesiology. My research interests are the clinical aspects of obstetric anesthesiology, including the effect of neuraxial labor analgesia on the progress of labor, postdural puncture headache, neurologic injury associated with childbirth, and maintenance of epidural labor analgesia. In addition, our group has investigated gastric emptying in pregnancy and optimal drug combinations for labor analgesia.

Conflicts of Interest
Within the last five years I have received funding from Nicolet Biomedical, Viasys Healthcare, and Everest Biomedical Instruments to study the SNAP loss of consciousness monitor. I am not on the advisory board, nor do I serve as a consultant for any corporation. My husband owns stock in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, but I do no know in which companies he has invested, nor do I know whether he has made or lost money on these investments.
