Professional Interests
My main research interests are the pharmacology of opioids and intravenous anaesthetics, with special interest in their pharmacokinetics and mutual interactions when used in anaesthesia. My clinical interest is cardiac anaesthesia. In medical education I have been intimately involved in the development of a high fidelity anaesthetic simulator, which is used nationally for training anaesthesiologists and other medical staff.

Conflicts of Interest
My department has in the recent past or is currently in receipt of financial support for research projects from Astra Zeneca, Glaxo Smith Klein, Abbott and Organon.
