Jeanette Esau's primary responsibility is to manage the editorial process for Anesthesia & Analgesia. A key function of this position is copy-editing and to review articles that have been peer reviewed and tentatively accepted for publication, and determine which articles require additional editorial attention to meet the journal's quality standards. The Principal Editor is the main gatekeeper for editorial quality and will regularly monitor all editorial quality, communicating regularly with the publisher's editorial group to uphold the highest editorial standards and working with the journal's Managing Editor to ensure adherence to established schedules. She also updates graphics on the journal website.
