Professional Interests
Our research focus is in experimental clinical science in the area of pain, inflammation and analgesia. We are particularly interested in human model systems that allow identification and early validation of novel analgesic/anti-inflammatory drug-candidates and/or interventions. Research takes place in human volunteers and patients and includes psychophysical, neuro-physiological, proteomic and genomic techniques. A particular emphasis is placed on identifying nociceptive and/or inflammatory biochemical markers that reflect and characterize specific pain conditions.
