Dr. Mark H. Zornow is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He serves as the Medical Director for the Outpatient Surgery Division. Dr. Zornow has been Principal Investigator (PI) on research funded by the National Institutes of Health and has published extensively on the role of excitatory neurotransmitters as mediators of ischemic brain injury. Dr. Zornow received his M.D.degree from the University of Florida and completed a residency in anesthesiology at Stanford University. He then continued his studies as a Neuroanesthesia Fellow under the direction of Dr. Michael Todd at the University of California at San Diego.
