Professional Interests
My current professional and research interests are in the area of ambulatory anesthesia. I have been actively involved in clinical studies of many of the medications used to both treat and prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting. In addition I have also evaluated nonpharmacologic approaches to the management of postoperative nausea and vomiting. I'm also interested in the broader areas of outcomes research particularly as it relates to patients undergoing outpatient surgery and anesthesia. During previous times in my career I have also studied neuromuscular blocking drugs used in the ICU, technology assessment and validation, and monitoring.

Conflicts of Interest
Within the past 5 years I have consulted for Merck, Roche, Helsinn, MGI Pharma and Adolor. These relationships are ongoing. I have no equity interest in any of these companies nor does any of my family or close personal friends or associates.
