Professional Interests
My work has been to define the pharmacology and connectivity of spinal systems that process nociceptive information. These studies lead naturally to the development of novel agents that are potentially useful in managing human pain states, after either systemic or intrathecal delivery. Our emphasis upon spinal systems has led to a specific interest in understanding the kinetics of spinally delivered drugs and the assessment of their preclinical safety.

Conflicts of Interest
Within the past 5 years, I have actively consulted with and or performed experiments for: Abbott Laboratories; Advanced Targeting Systems, Inc.; Algos; Allergan Inc.; Amrad Operations Pty Ltd; AnalgesiX; Athena Neurosciences; Biogen Inc.; Cognetix Inc.; Creative Biomolecules, Inc.; Decode; Glaxo-Welcome; Harris FRC Inc; Hydra Biosciences: Isis Pharmaceutical; Johnson and Johnson; Eli Lilly, Medtronic Inc.; Merck & Co.
